BS 7858 has been amended and released in September 2006. The changes will affect security companies and they will need to be complying with the new regulations from 1st January 2007.
At face value, it looks like the the requirements are easier with the majority of personnel being screened for only the last 5 years. However, after an in depth look at the changes I can tell you that it's a lot more complicated than that and security screening to this updated standard will require someone to be on the ball all the time to ensure that the correct (informed) decisions are made, authorized and documented every step of the way.
