The 6PE
Model
EQM Ltd has developed its own 6PE Methodology for
the Production of Management Systems. It is a
model for the development, implementation and ongoing improvement of
Management Systems.
It is based on our
understanding that processes have 6 component elements. When Process
Maps are developed with consideration for all 6 of these elements:
§they will quickly and easily
demonstrate compliance with the management standard (i.e. ISO 9001, ISO
14001, ISO 27001, OHS&S 18001, ISO 22001, SoX S404, TSA CoPs) or any
specific technical standard or legal or regulatory requirement that
controls part or all of the process
§they deliver the required management
controls without stifling creativity or being too restrictive
§they give precise control within the
company at predefined points
§they allow for effective monitoring and
measurement, not only of the product or service, but of the
effectiveness of the processes themselves
§they can be used to control and manage
change within the company ensuring that a new system being implemented
will work correctly and be fully compliant as soon as it goes “live”
§they are an aid to process
redevelopment ensuring that the processes are aligned with the
achievement of corporate goals and objectives
Project Outline
The way that EQM Ltd consultants carry out their work leaves you in no doubt that you are dealing with a
business consultancy of the highest order. Please note that when we have constructed your quality system, it will fit your company like a well tailored suit. There is no such thing as an off-the-peg quality management system. Even if there were, would you really want to alter the successful running of your business to fit someone else's template?
This model is powerful and
flexible. It enables the requirements of any management standard or any
corporate strategy to be developed into a management system for that
specific company. This in turn instals the necessary controls to ensure
that all company activity is directed towards and streamlined with the
corporate goals, whilst achieving all necessary compliance with
regulations and management standards as a matter of course.
Key areas of a project of this nature include attendance on site for a number of days to consult with the members of staff that carry out the tasks and with senior management to identify and document the business processes. This is consultancy at its best. The larger the company, the longer this phase of the operation will take.
This is followed up by a number of days producing the documentation. This involves integrating your existing forms and standard documents within a pre-defined structure and cross-referring them to the processes and procedures as determined in phase 1 of the project.
Finally, the documents are presented back to you for final review and amendment. Any minor adjustments at this stage will be undertaken very quickly and your new quality system handed over a few days later.
