NSI

National Security Inspectorate, NSI, is the national body inspecting firms providing security systems across the UK. It brings together two well established organizations, the National Approval Council for Security Systems (NSI), and the Inspectorate of the Security Industry (ISI) covering electronic services and manned services respectively.

NSI's vision is to promote and monitor high standards across activities relating to the secure environment so that business, specifiers and consumers can purchase products and services with confidence from reliable, independently assessed suppliers. (Link to the NSI site)

BSI

The British Standards Institution. The BSI name has been synonymous with best practice for over a century. With its roots in the standardization of the early railway systems, civil engineering and construction, BSI has grown to become a complementary set of world-class businesses. BSIA

The British Security Industry Association. The British Security Industry Association is the professional trade association for the security industry in the UK. Its aim is to help its member companies succeed in an ever-changing and highly competitive business environment. A vitally important element of this is ensuring its members provide the highest possible standard of products and service to their customers. (Link to the BSIA site)

ISOQAR

ISOQAR has a massive scope of accreditation, with auditors experienced in virtually all sectors of industry and commerce. On their site you will find a listing of the areas within which ISOQAR is UKAS approved to provide accredited certification.  (Link to the ISOQAR site)

IRCA

The IQA International Register of Certificated Auditors (IRCA) is an operationally independent organization within the Institute of Quality Assurance (IQA), the UK's leading body for quality and quality related matters. Established in the early 1980s initially to register auditors as part of the UK government's Quality initiative, IRCA quickly became recognized outside the UK as an integral part of the structure associated with ISO 9000 certification and is now accepted internationally as the world's foremost body concerned with the certification of auditors and auditor training courses. IMC

The Institute of Management Consultancy was formed in 1962 following demand in the 1950 for a professional institute to set the standards for management consultancy in the UK. The Institute?s immediate objectives were to establish management consulting as a profession with defined training and qualifications. To this end there was to be a code of conduct, a body of knowledge, a procedure for admitting new members and a campaign to persuade clients that members were trustworthy and professional consultants. CRB

The Criminal Records Bureau is an executive agency of the Home Office. It was set up to help organizations make safer recruitment decisions. By providing wider access to criminal record information, the CRB helps employers in the public, private and voluntary sectors identify candidates who may be unsuitable for certain work, especially that involving contact with children or other vulnerable members of society.
