Security System Auditing
There are many reasons why you might want EQM Ltd to carry out a technical audit of a security system on your behalf, depending on your relationship towards the security system. Your reasons would be different if you were the owner, or if you were an insurance or finance company. You may have a technical audit programme to run, either way, EQM Ltd can help.
If you are an installer of security systems and are approved by an Inspection Body or if you have an ISO 9001 Quality Management System, you probably have a routine in place where you carry out a number of audits on each engineer every year. There are reasons why this audit programme slips behind. The first is that it is not seen by the auditor as the highest priority task. The second is that the auditor may lack the specializt auditing skills that the job requires - it is not enough to be a good engineer. The third common reason is that the auditor "does not like to upset the other engineers". By getting EQM's experienced and highly trained technical auditors to run your Technical Audit Programme for you, you can be assured that we will turn up when we say we will, we have the required auditing skills and we do not upset the engineers, we are impartial and our reference is to the installation standards and your own company practices, so that any deviations are brought to your attention.
If you are an end user and want independent verification of the functionality and compliance of your security system. We can normally audit the full system including its operational capability and documentation and produce a written report within one day - depending on the size of the system. The report would be factual and based upon the relevant installation standards in place at the time of the installation. This also includes ancillary regulations such as the ACPO Policy, Noise Pollution legislation, IEE Wiring Regulations, DD 243, Contractual Requirements, ABI Guidelines for Keyholders, PSDB Guidelines, BSIA Guidelines, NSI Regulations, etc.
If you are an insurance company or finance company and want independent verification of the functionality and compliance of your client's security system. This might be to determine liability in the case of loss or it might be to remove an obstacle to your client refusing to pay their premiums.
