The Vetting and Barring Scheme
The Criminal Records Bureau was set up to try to protect children and vulnerable adults from those who may otherwise do them harm. Whilst the system is not perfect, the way that the system is used can provide a high degree of confidence that these vulnerable people are not being put at risk.
The Independent Safeguarding
Authority works alongside the CRB Disclosures service to give
assurance that an individual is actually eligible to work in a given
position. Between the CRB and the ISA, they form the
Vetting and
Barring Scheme.
In some cases, organizations that are responsible for children and vulnerable adults (such as schools, playgroups, hospitals and nursing homes, foster organizations, adoption agencies, boy scouts and girl guides)
will require personnel attending their premises to have been through the CRB Disclosure process.
Additionally, certain positions will require the applicant or the
present incumbent to actually be registered with the ISA. EQM Ltd is registered with the CRB as an Umbrella Body Organization
specifically to supply Disclosures and handle ISA Registration
applications to the Fire and Security Industry
and to all service industries. This should also include agency companies providing secretarial and administration staff, etc.
ISA Registration is easier to determine than CRB
Disclosure requirements as the job being applied for will either be one
that requires an ISA Registered person or it won't. If the post requires
it you must employ a Registered person. If not, it will be hard
to justify requesting that an employee goes through the registration

For CRB Disclosures, the first question is whether any of your personnel
are actually eligible for you to request a Disclosure. EQM Ltd Screening
Personnel can answer this question quickly and easily over the
telephone. If your personnel is eligible, this next question is "How do
you request a Disclosure for your staff?" The answer is simple, fill out the details below and submit an Application to EQM Ltd. We are registered as an Umbrella Body with the CRB to provide Disclosures for service companies such as yours.
Our Lead Countersignatory, or one of his staff acting under his express directions, will contact you to make sure that
the applicant's duties entitle you to ask exempted questions i.e.
that their duties qualify them for you to request that a Disclosure
be obtained, and detail how to obtain the correct type of Disclosure and
ensure that it is obtained as quickly as possible. There are certain laws governing the confidentiality of Disclosures. We will ensure that these laws are strictly adhered to. The three type of Disclosure available are Basic Disclosure, Standard Disclosure and Enhanced Disclosure.

Capabilities
EQM Ltd are a fully approved Umbrella Body and Registered with the Data Protection Registrar. We can handle several dozen CRB Applications per week within our current setup. Additionally, we have plans to expand our office space. The main reason for this is proposed expansion
is in the area of CRB Disclosures.
